Need help with Windows 7 Action Center?

The action center icon displays a red X on it so I clicked it and it says "Turn on Windows Security Center service (Important)". I open the action center and it tells me to turn it on (Windows Security Center service) so I click "Turn on now" and nothing happens. What do I do to get rid of this?
