Question about overeaters anonymous?

I'm 30 lbs overweight and I consider myself a food addict. I can't afford weight watchers/Nutrisystem, etc. I am trying Overeaters anonymous...and the only meeting that works out with my schedule is a bit rough. I feel there are some negative people who give me the cold shoulder and aren't very friendly. I know I should stick with it but it pisses me off that there are people there to get help and feel the need to treat me like that. Anyone have any experiences with it?
