I'm A Writer And My Characters "Speak" For Themselves - Should I Be Worried?

Don't worry, I have this too and so do a lot of fellow writers that I talk too. Sometimes you begin to build your character's personalities and then the character fills in the rest for you and begins making plots of their own, their own views and their own voice, per say. It's completely normal and can be very good for writing stories but can also be fairly irritating sometimes when the characters do things you don't want them to do. It's just being very imaginative.
